Expect Delays: New Round Of Daytime I-684 Double-Lane Closures Scheduled

Motorists are advised that lane closures are scheduled for separate stretches of I-684 this week.

There will be double lane closures northbound and southbound, between Exit 3 (Route 22) and Exit 6 (Route 35), Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. while crews perform maintenance activities, weather permitting.

Single and double lane closures are also expected between Exit 1 (Interstate 287/Split to Interstate 684 spur) and Exit 2 (Route 120), northbound on Monday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 9, and southbound on Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. while crews perform maintenance activities, weather permitting.

Motorists should anticipate delays and plan accordingly.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
